Vermont, home to cheese makers since the 1800s, has become an acknowledged national leader of the American artisanal cheese renaissance. Recently, Vermont began making award-winning wines from cold hardy grapes grown here in Vermont using grapes like Frontenac, Lacrescent and St. Croix, as well as, from more traditional varities like Riesling. Chef Robert of Cafe Provence, Brandon, Vermont offers cooking classes using classic French techniques on most Mondays. Many know him from his frequent TV cooking appearances on WCAX, Vermont's Channel 3. Now you and a friend can attend a cooking class with one night's lodging at The Lilac Inn for a special rate.
