The Lilac Inn is the place for your romantic New England destination dream wedding ceremony, reception and unforgettable memories - in any season. Our completely renovated 1909 mansion, a designated Green Hotel in the State of Vermont, has hosted over four hundred Vermont weddings - ranging in size from two to two hundred and fifty guests. Decorated in a relaxing yet elegant style, the Inn is inviting and comfortable. Each New England wedding reception here is a special celebration and we schedule only one reception per day tailored to your personal requirements. The historic air conditioned grand ballroom is wrapped in oversized beveled glass doors and windows and can accommodate 130 seated guests. French doors fill the room with soft sunlight from its southern exposure.

Since your New England wedding is a time of family sharing and reunions with friends from afar, we suggest at least a two-day event. This will provide time for laughter, conviviality, merriment, and reunion. Our extensive gardens, cozy library and English-theme tavern are especially conducive to these goals. Our New England weddings packages can include rehearsal dinner, reception and day after wedding brunch - each with a menu designed especially for you and your tastes. We welcome your selection of any or all of the events, and we look forward to helping you create the New England wedding of a lifetime.

Custom New England Wedding Reception Packages

The Inn is built around a cobblestone courtyard that beckons guests to spend time outside in the ever expanding gardens. There are two acres of landscaped grounds, ideal for New England garden weddings. A picturesque gazebo is the focal point plus two cascading ponds with a frog fountain, Vermont stonewalls, and slate stone benches that enhance the ambiance and provide a setting for relaxation and meditation. French doors fill the room with soft sunlight from its southern exposure. Our nine guest rooms, each with private tiled bath, feature contemporary amenities discreetly placed so as not to distract from the historic character of the mansion. Each room is unique and filled with treasures from over thirty years of collecting.
