The Lilac Inn is a stately Georgian Revival style building with magnificent gardens that reflect a casual yet enchanting elegance. As befits a property listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the gardens have been carefully planned to provide year round enjoyment to both guests and the public. As the name The Lilac Inn suggests, the grounds are home to many lilacs, including the rare primrose yellow lilac which is also the color of the Inn. There is a wide assortment of perennials designed to provide pleasing color throughout the growing season and a relaxing backdrop for guests to enjoy.

Lilac Inn, Romantic Luxury Vermont Country Inn Boutique Bed and Breakfast, Brandon, Vermont Vermont Elopement Packages, Vermont Destination Wedding Packages, Vermont Destination Wedding Receptions, Same Sex Weddings.Having evolved from their earliest days as a serene and restive backdrop for a private summer cottage, their current role serves as the romantic setting for a premier Vermont destination wedding site.

From the broad courtyard terrace, guests can look out across elegantly shaped flower and shrub borders set in the lawn. Originally the overall space was essentially flat, and from the courtyard one could see directly to the stone wall at the far end of the lawn and our favorite bunny. Now, a gently curving path invites the visitor away from the elegant formality of the Inn to a sunken garden, within a ring of old apple trees.

Descending via six steps to this secret place, guests are encouraged to stop a while, sit on a long, meandering stone seat built into the retaining wall, and count the fish in the pool. Guests can then walk up the gentle slope on the other side past a second pool with a constant gurgling frog fountain to the Gazebo. The stone walls with the profusion of perennials is a perfect backdrop for wedding photos.

The Gazebo is the site of many memorable Vermont garden weddings and other special celebrations, for which The Lilac Inn is well known.
