There are events and activities happening most weekends. Come visit Brandon for the newly opened birthplace of Stephen A. Douglas and home of the Brandon Museum, some of Vermont's best recreation: skiing (both cross-country and downhill are nearby), snowshoeing in the Moosalamoo National Recreation Area and ice fishing on Lake Dunmore.

Moosalamoo National Recreation Area - Conserving the Land, Preserving the Spirit- One of Vermont's best-kept secrets is a designated National Recreation Area for all to enjoy the out of doors. Over 21,000 acres of forest, cliffs, vistas, lakes and streams, stretching from the western ridge of the Green Mountains to Lake Dunmore, and from Middlebury Gap to Brandon Gap. Robert Frost Trail: A National Recreation Trail that commemorates Robert Frost's poetry; several of his poems are mounted along the trail in the woods and fields. Blueberries and huckleberries grow in an old field at the far end of the trail The Lilac Inn has a Robert Frost Room. Doug's grandfather Arthur Sawyer was a friend of Robert Frost when he lived in Franconia, New Hampshire.

Stephen Douglas Birthplace: The recently restored 1802 home in historic Brandon, Vermont, is the birthplace of the Honorable Stephen. A. Douglas, 19th century statesman. It is the official Brandon Welcome Center and Home to the Brandon Historical Society.

Here in Brandon, Vermont the locals are used to seeing Warren Kimble all the time -- in his studio and gallery, at meetings, at parties, at other art galleries, on the street, in restaurants, and driving his Roadster around town. Warren has been Brandon' s "cheerleader" for a number of years helping raise awareness of the arts while being a mover / shaker in our town's renaissance.
The Watershed Tavern, built in the 1820's, is on Center Street in historic downtown Brandon Vermont. You can have a seat at our classic bar, illuminated by the original stained glass windows, and let our friendly bartender take care of you.
